2023 JV Raider Rumble Tournament Details & Bracket

Hello,

As promised, I have the information for the Raider Rumble JV Tournament this weekend at Alpharetta High School. The bracket is attached . The email is lengthy but please read all information thoroughly. The first game is Friday at 6:15 pm. The girls need to be ready to begin warmups at 5:15 pm. The team is not providing transportation so please plan accordingly. Saturday morning, arrival time is 8 am.

2023 Raider Rumble Rules

Hello coaches. It is time for Alpharetta High School’s seventh annual Raider Rumble Lacrosse

Tournament. This document contains important information about the logistics and rules for the

tournament. Please distribute this information document to all players and parents.

Address

Alpharetta High School is located at 3595 Webb Bridge Road Alpharetta, GA 30005.

All games will be played on either the stadium field or the practice field, which is

located one level above the stadium field and it is a grass field. We encourage fans to bring a chair

Admission Fees and Information

This tournament is a GHSA sanctioned event. As such, there are mandatory gate fees for BOTH fields.

Admission includes access to all games both on Friday and Saturday. A wristband system will be used for

admission and readmission to the tournament. Each paid entry receives one wristband as proof of

purchase. Fans must wear the wristband. If a fan loses the wristband, the fan will need to purchase

another wristband. Prices are as follows and admission is:

• Adults and students – $10

• Children 5 and Under – Free

• Coaches – Free and limited to three per program

WE WILL NOT BE USING GO FAN. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS ON GO FAN.

We will have an information desk located in the breeze-way near the concession stand. Also, Raider Staff

wearing Raider Rumble t-shirts will be walking around to answer any questions you or any visitors

might have. Additionally, a medical trainer will be on site for any medical needs.

The grass field has limited seating.

Weather can be very unpredictable in April – we recommend that each team bring a tent to set up around

the field/track so your team can have shade or cover.

Schedule

We will use Tourney Machine for updates, announcements and score updates. Tourney Machine can be

downloaded from the App store. We expect the schedule to be loaded into Tourney Machine one week

prior to the tournament. In the meantime, attached is the current schedule with games times and field

locations.

We have 24 teams and each team is guaranteed three games. We have three brackets – the Captain Hook bracket, the Jack Sparrow bracket and the Black Beard bracket. Each bracket will have a champion. Creekview is in the Black Beard Bracket.

Concessions and Coolers

Full concessions will be provided. As a result, there is a strict policy of one cooler per team. Coolers will

be checked at the admission gate and once a team is recorded as having brought in a cooler, no additional

cooler for that team will be permitted. Please make sure parents understand this policy.

Concessions will be available in the concession stand located in the main stadium. Breakfast will be

served in the morning. Hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, chips, snacks and beverages will be served Friday

evening and all day Saturday. Credit cards are accepted at the concession stand.

Tournament Rules

The following rules will be in place for the tournament:

• Regular Game Times – regular games are two (2), 20 minute halves with a running clock. Half

time is four (4) minutes. The clock never stops.

• Championship Game Times – championship games are two (2), 20 minute halves with a running

clock. Half time is four (4) minutes. The clock stops on the whistle in the last two minutes of each

half.

• Timeouts – each team is allowed one, 45 second timeout per game. The clock does not stop during

a timeout. No timeouts are allowed within the last three (3) minutes of each half.

• Overtime – if a game ends in a tie, a Braveheart will be used to determine the winning team. The

Braveheart will consist of two (2) field players per team and one goalie per team. The first team to

score wins the game.

In case of inclement weather, game times may be adjusted to ensure completion of the tournament.

T-shirts will be available for purchase at the tournament for $15.00 per shirt.

2023 Area Updates

2023 Season Brings a New Division, Area, and Competition

The 2023 schedule includes familiar foes from previous years along with new matchups and rivalries that will develop with the updated GHSA alignment for lacrosse.

Creekview will no longer play in the 6A-7A division. We now participate in a division consisting of 5A-6A schools. There are 53 schools total across 8 different areas. The top 4 teams from each area will earn a spot in the state playoffs.

Creekview participates in Area 4 along with the following schools:

Primary foes no longer in our division are Milton, Walton, Hillgrove, West Forsyth, and North Paulding.

Familiar teams that will be competing against us for state are Roswell, Cambridge, Kell, Lassiter, Alpharetta, North Forsyth, Johns Creek, and Chattahoochee.

A new opponent for us will be Blessed Trinity who has won back to back state titles at the 5A level. Creekview plays Blessed Trinity on the road on Thursday March 30th.

What: CVHS Girls Lax "Fall Ball" 2022

Purpose: OPTIONAL Fall lacrosse program to prepare for the CVHS Girls Lax Spring school season

Who: Open to all interested Creekview girls players grades 9-12 (no tryout)

When: Mid-Sep to Mid-Nov
- Plan for 6-8 total practices at Veterans, days/times TBD
- 2 local tournaments Oct 8-9 or Nov 12-13 and Nov 5-6 (confirmed)

Program Player Fee: $250 (includes pinnie, tourney fees, practice time, coaches time)
- Bring check for payment to interest meeting on 9/14 made to Creekview HS Girls Lacrosse

Coaches:
- Bailey Wilson - Current grad student playing KSU lax, former Furman lax undergrad player
- Chesslyn Lamar - Recent KSU grad and lax player

Criteria / Expectations:
- 1-2 teams depending on interest
- Not a CVHS or GHSA sanctioned Fall sport
- Rosters have no impact on Spring HS team evaluation or placement
- Separate program / supplement to other club or showcase teams
- Players should be planning to tryout for CVHS girls Varsity/ JV in Spring
- Players must have valid/active USA Lax # ( usalacrosse.com )
- Practice days/times TBD - 6-8 total, 1x weekly

Thursday April 14th will be a huge night for Creekview High School Girls Lacrosse. On top of the potential Area Championship game matchup vs North Forsyth, we will be holding Senior and Youth night festivities. Below, you'll find the schedule of events:

6:00 PM Varsity Game vs NF
6:25 ish Halftime Grizzly Girls Youth Walk

Bring your cameras and a few Kleenex's to celebrate our seniors and our youth program. In addition to normal concessions we'll have a special guest, the King of Pops, with a popsicle stand for some extra fun. A portion of the proceeds from the popsicles will come back to the program.

Have a great Spring Break and we look forward to a big week when we all return.

Playoff Round 1 Preview - Brookwood

Creekview will host Brookwood next week in the 1st round of the 2020-2021 GHSA Class 6A-7A Girls State Lacrosse Championship.

Creekview enters as the #2 team from Area 6 and Brookwood enters as the #3 team from Area 7. Brookwood was 8-10 overall on the season and 5-2 in their region. If your daughter is planning to tryout for CVHS Lax, at least one parent (both preferred) and the player are required to attend. Girls playing other school sports are excused if they have a game/practice - let Coach D. know.

2020-2021 Coffee Fundraiser

Our first fundraiser of the 2021 season is here! This year we'll be offering a locally sourced series of gourmet coffees for you to enjoy while helping fund the costs of our program in the 2020-2021 season. The coffee is fantastic and it goes to a great cause!

We offer easy online ordering where you can have the coffee delivered straight to your home or you can work with us to pay cash and meet us to pick it up. We wanted to provide as many options as possible.
